As a start of the CRIC Festival of Critical Culture we will have “Deepfake Situations” performance Resuscitation Training performance.

– Misusing the situation of a common first aid course the performance simulates the coming together of a group of people as an emergency. Participants are guided through different exercises in which the relation of the individual and the collective are practiced in a radical way. Between tension and relaxation, unconsciousness and expansion of consciousness, unlearning a familiar situation becomes a political measure with artistic means.

The performance will be held twice in Skopje at the Museum of Contemporary Art, on September 21st and 22nd. A maximum of 10 people can participate in each of them. To participate, sign up at the following link:

“Deepfake Situations” are misappropriations of everyday situations with the goal of asking about the foundations of how we come together. In contrast to the illusions created by AI, “Deepfake Situations” are about the development of human capacities to construct new situations. The produced “Deepfakes” are using methods of readymade, intervention, and learning play, among others. “Deepfake Situations” was founded at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies Giessen (DE), realized projects in Frankfurt, Mannheim, Bochum, Berlin, Stockholm and Skopje, among others, and consists of Felix Falczyk and Johanna Herschel.

Kontrapunkt and CRIC – Festival of Critical Culture are supported by: Goethe-Institut Skopje, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia and Allianz Kulturstiftung, Creative Europe.
