Festival/platform for critical culture “CRIC (КРИК) (Critique – Risk – Imagination – Confrontation)” has been in 2016 as a part of the new program focus of Kontrapunkt, Association for critical theory, socio-cultural activism and contemporary critical practices, founded in 2001 and working in Skopje, Macedonia. (www.kontrapunkt-mk.org).

CRIC is newly, but already established and conceptualized platform in Macedonian, but also in regional and international socio-cultural context and that is why it is even more important for us, having on mind our extremely difficult and delicate political, economical and cultural context, to arise some questions and to open a discussion in the culture of silence, as we can define our society.

The main goal of this recently established festival/platform is to create “a context of laboratory”, an experimental environment that will explore the paradigms of power, the emancipatory branching of the asthetical-theorethical-political that communicates with all repressive forms over the public domain of its citizens: educational, social, economic, cultural…

The 06 CRIC Festival program is focused on exploring and presenting the proceses of Archiving the Violence in the 20th and 21th centuries. Violence understood discursively, theoretically, thoughtfully and articulated trought various artistic practices. One of the main focuses was, by examining the practices of power and violence to recognise and distinguuis archiving features of the political events of the community and the entity that makes possible their existance in terms of intelectual, artistic and political represion. Among other addresed issues were: what are the performatives of violence in multicultural political uncultivated areas. As power and subordination that become discoursive articulation of any ”we”. In Archive fever, Derrida defines the term archivization as an active term i.e. production. This project was addressing precisely this aspect of archiving, an act or an active process of archiving that will create new readings and meanings of the term, but will contribute to enriching and even more subtle delineation of the term in order to understand it thoroughly.
